Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again, sees the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin in their own once again. The series will premiere on Disney Plus during Spring 2024 and has 18 episodes.
With all of the excitement surrounding both actors returning, there’s been many fans that also want characters; Foggy Nelson and Karen Page back, as well as fans that have also been hoping for Elektra to return.
There were fan speculations and fake leaks in July that led many to believe that Elekra (originally played by Elodie Yung in the Netflix Daredevil series) was going to be replaced by Eiza González Reyna.
Now, in a recent tweet, the Ambulance star finally debunks this casting, after receiving so much hate as result of people spreading misinformation.
‘I feel like I’m just gonna get it out of the way because, One I’m confused as for the amount of hate over this and two I feel like it saves people energy. No I’m not cast as Elektra in Daredevil I have already a on going series exclusivity contract to 3 Body Problem’.
– Eiza González Reyna
Eiza also mentioned that she wants ‘to live free of negative ill intended messages about me playing/stealing? a role that I don’t even know about’.
There’s not currently been a plot released for Daredevil: Born Again, or any of the other actors known to be in the new series besides Cox and D’Onofrio. It’s still possible that Elodie Yung could be back if there’s a plot for the character, or Marvel may end up still recasting. Production on the Daredevil series is due to begin next year.
