This years CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas, commenced on Monday April 24; firstly showcasing upcoming titles from Sony Pictures.
Throughout the four day schedule, there will be panels from studios: Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, Walt Disney Studios, Universal Studios, Focus, Paramount and Lionsgate.
Tickets are not sold to the general public; as the event is for people working in the industry such as theatre owners, press etc. Luckily, there are plenty of updates from the event, that are posted online from those attending.
I’ve gathered all of the information together for the Sony Pictures panel, these are from various sources that are available to click on at the bottom of this article.
Titles at the presentation
Bad Boys 4
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence appear in a special video message from the set of Bad Boys 4; to offer an update as both stars exit a black Porsche. They are currently four weeks into filming. Apart from that, it’s mainly them just joking around in the video.
Bad Boys 4 will also star Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paolo Núnez and Eric Dane. There was recently castings advertised for this fourth film.
Dumb Money
Director Craig Gillepsie introduced his new film during the event, called Dumb Money – starring Paul Dano (The Batman). There was also the first few minutes previewed.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Director, Kemp Powers and actors; Hailee Steinfeld, Shameik Moore and Issa Rae appear on stage, to present the first 14 minutes of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. This footage shows Miles and Gwen reuniting and interacting with his mum, it’s set 1 year after the events of the first film. Moore says that “Miles is still trying to figure out how to be a superhero”. Check out our breakdown for the recent trailer that was released.
Kraven the Hunter
It’s been revealed that Kraven the Hunter; starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, will be age rated-R, in the U.S., that’s usually 15, in the UK cinemas. The film releases on October 6, 2023.
Exclusive footage was also shared at the event by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, in a video message; showing Kraven facing off against mercenaries, biting someone’s nose off, flashbacks to his childhood with Russell Crowe playing his dad, Ariana DaBose playing Calypso, and the introduction of a new Rhino.
Previously, a live-action version of Rhino was last seen in Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man movies. A trailer for Kraven the Hunter will be releasing this Summer.
No Hard Feelings
Jennifer Lawrence and producer Gene Stupnitsky present an exclusive clip for their upcoming R-rates comedy movie No Hard Feelings – also starring Andrew Barth Feldman.
Footage is being described by Variety as ‘raunchy’. No Hard Feelings is about two parents who hire a woman to date their 19-year old son, so he is not stuck with being a virgin for any longer. Gene Stupnitsky was inspired by a Craigslist as to make this film. It releases in cinemas this June 23, 2023.
A Red Band trailer was already released in March.
Gran Turismo
Neill Blomkamp, the director for the Sony-Playstation racing movie Gran Turismo – starring Archie Madekwe, Orlando Bloom and David Harbour, screens the first teaser trailer at the presentation.
This movie is based on a true story about a gamer, who becomes a real-life race car driver. Gran Turismo releases in cinemas on August 11, 2023.
The teaser trailer reveals the character, Jann (Archie Madekwe) being put through a tough boot camp, at the GT Academy by trainer Jack (David Harbour).
Update May 2: The trailer has been released for Gran Turismo.
Anyone But You
There was an exclusive preview revealed by Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, who appeared on stage, for their upcoming R-rated Rom-com film titled Anyone But You. This film just recently finished wrapping in Australia.
Ghostbusters Afterlife sequel
Director, Gil Kenan and writer, Jason Reitman joins some of the cast in a digital presentation: Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, McKenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard. This new Ghostbusters movie follows on from the Afterlife film, now set in NYC.
There has still not been an official title revealed, however, this film is scheduled to release in cinemas on December 20.
The Equalizer 3
Denzel Washington is presented with a CinemaCon lifetime achievement award, and the actor also reveals a trailer for the third installment of The Equalizer – also starring Dakota Fanning and directed by Antoine Fuqua. A release date is set for September 1, 2023.

Napoleon
Director, Sir Ridley Scott and Joaquin Phoenix have a few scenes previewed for their new action epic film Napoleon.
In the scenes showcased; there are brutal battle sequences; hand-to-hand combat and cannonball destruction.
Sony Pictures are working with Apple TV+, to have the film also release in cinemas. Napoleon releases on November 22, 2023.
Unfortunately, there were no surprise announcements for any new Andrew Garfield or Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies.
