It’s been a long search to find the next actors to play Superman and Lois Lane, for DC Studios film Superman: Legacy.
Superman: Legacy is one of the first films set in DC’s Chapter One: Gods & Monsters.
Heads of DC Studios; James Gunn and Peter Safran have finally chosen David Corenswet (Pearl) and Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) to be Clark Kent/Superman and the intrepid reporter Lois Lane.
James Gunn comments on the casting news for both actors: “Accurate! (They are not only both incredible actors, but also wonderful people).”
David and Rachel will also be portraying their characters across live-action, animation and video games.
There were other actors that were also in the running to get the part; Nicholas Hoult, Tom Brittney, Emma Mackey and Pheobe Dynevor were all in screen tests.
In that same article about screen test, from The Hollywood Reporter; both Alexander and Bill Skarsgård are reportedly on a shortlist to be Lex Luthor, Hoult was also previously looking to put his name down for this role too.
David Corenswet was also one of the picks in our article from February 2023; about who could be the next Superman.
Superman: Legacy is set to release on July 11, 2025.
