James Gunn and Peter Safran began their new jobs as the co-chair and co-CEO of DC Studios on November 1, 2022. They were both tasked with creating a plan for the next 10 years of DC content.
Soon after being hired, news came out that James Gunn was already writing for a younger Superman, as he announced Henry Cavill’s depature in the role.
On Monday January 30th, at Warner Bros. Studios; a few selected US press were given a private first look at some of the slate of what’s to come and James Gunn has now publicly been able to reveal projects from the first chapter.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash movie are part of the old DCEU and will be resetting everything to lead onto Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Here are the titles from the first chapter of the DC Universe:
The first chapter will be titled Gods & Monsters.
Actors that appear in DCU live-action roles will also get to voice their same roles in animated projects and video games.
Creature Commandos
An animated television series about a 1980’s comic team of military superhumans such as werewolves, vampires and other monsters.
Waller
Voila Davis will be reprising her role as Amanda Waller, in this live-action series, set between Peacemaker season 1 and 2.
Superman: Legacy
The new Superman movie, written by James Gunn will be releasing on July 11, 2025. The movie will be showing a young Clark Kent as he balances his “Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing.” Both Gunn and Safran are looking to set the age rating for the Superman movie to be PG-13/12A.
The Batman: Part II
Matt Reeves sequel to The Batman starring Robert Pattinson will release on October 3, 2025. Pattinson’s iteration is still set in his own Elseworlds universe.
Joker 2: Folie à Deux
Todd Phillips sequel starring Joaquin Pheonix and Lady Gaga is also part of DC’s Elseworlds category but not set in the same universe as The Batman.
Lanterns
A live-action Green Lantern TV series focusing on Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart.
The Authority
A film featuring group of characters that operate in the grey area of crime fighting, and they will also get to interact with the primary DC characters at a later date.
Swamp Thing
This character will be getting a new horror movie, and this will focus on the dark origins of the monster.
Paradise Lost
Live action TV series focusing on stories about the birth place of Wonder Woman.
The Brave and The Bold
Finally a new Batman movie, this one is about Batman and his son Damian Wayne. Introducing the Bat-family.
Booster Gold
Live action tv series about the superhero from the future; who uses advanced technology.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
A film focusing on Supergirls upbringing that was different to Kal-El.
Superman & Lois
The series is said to be getting 1 or 2 more seasons before it is finished.

Possible project
Aquaman 3
Peter Safran has mentioned that there could be a third Aquaman movie starring Jason Momoa, however this has not been ‘set in stone’ yet. Depending on what character Momoa wants to play in the future.
