The news came out recently that Patty Jenkins’ version Wonder Woman 3 has been cancelled and Henry Cavill will no longer return as Superman.
James Gunn and Peter Safran have been making a complete overhaul of DC Studios; changing everything since the old regime left and creating a new 10 year plan that has yet to fully be revealed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gal Gadot and Henry Cavill were due to have a cameo in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash movie, however, their scenes have since been removed.
It does seem to make sense removing them; if Gunn and Safran are no longer choosing to have these actors continue in their roles for future projects.
If their cameos had been kept in, this may have created a false expectation for audiences that they would be coming back; just like what happened with Henry Cavill appearing at the end of Black Adam.
Gunn has been writing a movie about a younger Superman for a while. James Gunn has stated that his new Superman movie will not be an origin story. This Clark Kent will already be familiar with other heroes in the story.
The Flash is currently set to release on June 16, 2023 – starring Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Keaton and Michael Shannon. Check out the recent official artworks and logo that reveal more about the movie.
