It’s finally happening! The first trailer for the long-awaited game; Grand Theft Auto 6, will be releasing in early December, 2023.
In 2013, GTA V was released and the game has since made an estimated $7.7 billion worldwide, making it one of the most successful and profitable game franchises.
Next month will also be the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games, since the studio was founded in 1998.
The President of Rockstar Games; Sam Houser, has officially announced this news about the trailer, across their various social media pages:
‘We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto.’
The phrase in bold used, could suggest that a subtitle may be added, instead of the game just being called ‘Grand Theft Auto 6‘. Previous games had names such as Vice City and San Andreas.
In early September 2022, a teen hacker was able to gain access to files, which had early game development footage and a slew of other data for GTA VI, that was leaked online.
Arion Kurraj certainly got a five star wanted level, in real life fairly quickly when he tried to blackmail Rockstar Games. Although, Arion Kurtaj was later found not to be fit to stand trial, due to his health.
The game is speculated to be taking place in Vice City once again and possibly a way to also access Los Santos, as part of an expansive map.
According to the leaks that surfaced; there’s two Bonnie and Clyde style characters in the game, however anything could have changed in the development, during these tests. Rockstar Games did confirm the leaks to be real in their tweet, from 2022.
The original GTA V trailer that was released 12 years ago, has garned a staggering 90 million views over time. This game saw the introduction of Michael, Trevor and Franklin, in Los Santos.
GTA V also gave players the ability to switch between the three characters, could this be a similar experience for the new game?
Players are also certainly hoping for the games realism to be stepped up considerably in GTA 6, as with each installment has come with incredible advancements.
When will the GTA 6 trailer come out?
In December, the first trailer will be coming out for GTA 6, and it might actually be dropping at The Game Awards 2023, on December 7, in addition to releasing online at the same time.
December 1 Update: The GTA VI trailer will actually be releasing on Tuesday, December 5, at 9AM ET. In the UK, we’re 5 hours ahead, therefore the trailer will be online at 2PM GMT.
When is GTA 6 releasing?
The trailer for GTA V released in November 2011, and that game itself did not come out until another 2 years, in 2013. If it’s a similar timeframe, GTA 6 will likely be releasing around mid or late 2024/2025.
