James Gunn’s Tweets
The new Superman movie is surprisingly being written by James Gunn and has been worked on fot a while now. It will also not be another origin movie.

Henry Cavill’s Statement
As soon as the news about this cancellation appeared on Gunn’s Twitter profile, Henry Cavill took to Instagram, to post a lengthy statement about no longer returning to the DC movie.
Cavill had a meeting with the heads of DC studios and wrote ‘it’s sad news, everyone. I will, after all, not be returning as Superman.‘
‘Superman is still around. Everything he stands for still exists, and the examples he sets for us are still there! My turn to wear the cape has passed, but what Superman stands for never will. It’s been a fun ride with you all, onwards and upwards.’
The DC Universe is getting a complete shake-up, and there is surely to be more changes to come. Patty Jenkin’s Wonder Woman 3 has also been cancelled recently.
