A new trailer for the Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been released and this reveals more about why Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is willing to help Kang (Jonathan Majors). There’s also the first look of MODOK.
In the final episode of Loki season 1; Miss Minutes tempted Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) with a final offer that “He Who Remains” can re-insert them both into a timeline that won’t disrupt things and they can live out the rest of their lives instead of what would have originally happened to Loki. This would allow Loki to win the fight against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Assemble and defeat Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, to get the Infinity Gauntlet for himself.
Janet Van Dyne (Michael Pfeiffer) also mentions in the new Ant-Man trailer that “[Kang] can rewrite existence… and shatter timelines. You cannot trust him!”.
This variant of Kang the Conqueror is trapped and desparate in the Quantum Realm and he’s looking to Scott Lang for help, who is also in a desparate position by tempting him with a similar offer. Kang says: “I’m the man who can give you the one thing you want“, “Time“.
Lang’s life has never been how he would have liked it to be; from being in-n-out of prison to missing many years of his daughter’s life; due to Thanos snapping half of existence while Ant-Man was also in the Quantum Realm.
Scott blames himself for his daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) becoming just like him; ending up in a jail cell in the trailer, likely due to stealing from somewhere and then risking her life as a superhero at some point during the movie.
There’s a narration in the trailer where Scott Lang says: “I don’t care who this guy is, I just lost so much. He can give us a second chance.”
Kang could completely make it as if Scott never lived the life of a criminal and never became Ant-Man. Placing him in a timeline where he’s just in a casual safe 9 – 5 job or his security company is successful, where he gets to spend more time with his daughter and Hope (Evangeline Lily).
Unfortunately, by the end of the trailer, it seems that Kang will back out of his deal, once he gets what he wants. There’s a big fight between them both as Scott says: “We had a deal!”
MODOK
We also got our first look at MODOK *Spoiler warning* beyond this point about who he is.

At the end of the first Ant-Man movie, Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) was the CEO of Pym Tech; who became warped by his greed for power and money. Cross harnessed a version of the Pym Particle, with an intention to sell deadly shrinking Yellowjacket suits to the highest bidder.
He ended up wearing one himself to fight Ant-man, however Scott managed to stop him by breaking through the suits tech. Parts of Darren Cross were being mangled and his body shrinking in all different places.
It appears that he miraculously survived in the Quantum Realm, as the very disproportionate character called MODOK. It’s safe to say that he’s still looking to get revenge on Scott Lang.
