This article contains spoilers for Loki season 2 episode 3.
The latest episode is out now, and I have a theory about what Renslayer and Miss Minutes could be attempting to plan.
In the third episode; Ravonna Renslayer and Miss Minutes are in the 1800s, with a plan to start the cycle all over again with another variant of He Who Remains/Kang called Victor Timely (Jonathan Majors); running the TVA.
However, Victor Timely was never supposed to know about the TVA, or knowledge of any future technology that comes with it, until Renslayer gives him the TVA handbook written by O.B.
He Who Remains from Loki season 1 wouldn’t have chosen this contingency plan for them both to go to Timely, if he wasn’t going to follow in his footsteps. H.W.R must have known that something might happen to him, just not that he would not be alive by the hands of two Loki variants.
TVA is in danger
The Temporal Loom is also currently unable to hold so many branches of different timelines, which could result in the destruction of the TVA.
One of the solutions at this point; is to fix the TVA, by getting a variant to return with the same Temporal Aura as He Who Remains.
Loki used a method to stop temporarily prevent himself time slipping by getting all of his own Temporal Aura from his timeline.
Everyone’s temporal auras are supposed to be unique, according to the first episode of season 1; when Loki was first captured by the TVA. Therefore Kang variants are Nexus beings, that affect the time streams and would have the same temporal aura, across the multiverse.
Victor Timely’s exchange with Miss Minutes
There’s a suspicious line exchange between Timely and Miss Minutes about being singular:
Victor Timely says: “You are absolutely singular”.
Miss Minutes then replies: “Why, thank you. You’re pretty singular yourself. At least, you will be“.
Victor Timely says “What do you mean?”.
And Renslayer mentions that “It’s complicated”.
What could they be planning for Timely?
By the end of this episode, Loki and Mobius now have Victor Timely, to help with fixing the TVA. Possibly, during the moment that Timely is helping gather his temporal aura back from the time stream. Miss Minutes might tamper with the Temporal Loom.
O.B does keep mentioning that she does have the capabilites to control everything. Their plan could be to merge all of the Kang variants together, in order for there to be one ultimate “unstoppable” Kang the Conqueror.
Since Kang is a nexus being, with the same temporal aura everywhere; the loom could be gathering him from the multiverse, as well as the time stream, which Loki doesn’t realize. Or Renslayer and Miss Minutes are still planning to just prune all of the multiverse, so there’s still one Kang left.
It’s a time loop?
Victor Timely also appears to have built a miniature power source, likely for a time chair, similar to the one seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
If Timely does become evil or merges with other variants, he may build a complete time chair all over again, like some sort of time loop, and then he thinks that he’s fixing errors in the multiverse by destroying countless worlds, just like in Quantumania.
