Marvel Studios ‘Moon Knight’ Non-Spoiler Review

A guest written, non-spoiler review for the upcoming Marvel series on Disney Plus called Moon Knight - Starring Oscar Isaac.

When you think of Marvel, you normally think of Spider-Man, Iron man and Captain America. That’s all about to change when watching Moon Knight! First and foremost, I want to thank Disney and Marvel for allowing me to be able to watch the first 4 episodes of the new series.

With this new series Marvel has made, it takes a whole new direction; straight away you can tell this series is something completely different.

Oscar Isaac’s performance is nothing like we have seen before with a Jekyll and Hyde performance, and straight away we can tell the difference between Steven and Marc from facial expressions and body language it is astounding how the same person can play two completely different people.

Whilst Steven at first seems lost and hopeless. Marc seems to know what he wants and how he is going to get it. The way they interact between each other is fantastic and the switches between the personalities are perfectly done.

Ethan Hawke is someone you cannot get enough of! He steals every scene he is in; the way he presents himself and how he holds the tone of voice in each scene is near perfection, his interaction with Isaac is beyond perfect and I wish we saw it sooner.

May Calamawy is a great choice in this series, her character Layla has some mystery about her and how she fits in to this, her interactions with Marc/Steven is great and you learn more how she knows them.

The casting for Khonshu was perfect; F.Murray Abraham’s voice, tone and wording of how he speaks, is exactly how I imagined Khonshu to sound and talk.

The suit designs of Mr. Knight and Moon Knight are fantastic and the detailing on them are incredible. The team that designed them and made them, deserve so much recognition as it was beautifully made and designed.

Overall, my viewing of the first four episodes were great. It had humour where it needed to be, the tonal shift from episode to episode and the scenery and transitions are beautiful. Moon Knight, I am sure will become a Disney+ hit with every fan, as everything in this series has so far with myself.
