Superman and Lois season 3 is seeing the introduction of two actors from The Walking Dead Universe; and they are both set to play villains.
Actor, Chad L. Coleman who played Tyreese Williams on The Walking Dead is set to star as Intergang crime boss; Bruno Mannheim. However, Coleman is not new to The CW superhero shows, as he also played a different character on Arrow called Tobias Church.
There is also a doppleganger of John Diggle helping out John Henry Irons; with the upcoming Intergang threat mentioned in a scene at the end of season 2.
In a report from The Hashtag Show in December 2022, there were talks of Lex Luthor making an appearance in the third season.
This has now been further confirmed by an Etertainment Weekly exclusive; that reveals Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman will be going up against Michael Cudlitz’ new iteration of Lex Luthor role. Cudlitz is best known for playing Abraham on The Walking Dead.
At the end of season 2 for Superman and Lois, General Sam Lane made it clear, that this was a different Earth, separate to the rest of the Arrowverse now.
This is also one of the reasons why Jon Cryer is no longer Lex Luthor. Cryer commented on his depature from the role in December.
The show overall has a different tone; with also no acknowledgement to Supergirl/Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist). Showrunner, Todd Helbing also confirmed they are separate Earths in June 2022.
The new teaser was recently released for Superman and Lois season 3; that shows the Kent family facing tragedy.
Superman and Lois season 3 is set to release on March 14.
