Sony Picture’s latest Marvel movie Morbius stars Jared Leto as the Living Vampire.
The movie released it’s first teaser trailer over 2 years ago, on 13 January 2020. Sony surprised fans by revealing Michael Keaton reprising his role as Adrian Toomes again since Spider-Man: Homecoming.
As well as a Spider-Man wall mural easter egg that was teased and references to Venom that left so many fans confused about which universe Morbius is set in.
New information spread online after people saw the full movie at press screenings, that recently happened. Michael Keaton’s scenes have been cut from the movie itself. There are different scenes including Keaton’s character in the credits instead, and are said to not be the same as what’s been seen in the trailers.
I contacted my source who has seen the movie and has confirmed these rumours to be true. As well as mentioning, even after watching the movie; there’s still confusion about which universe it is set in. My source didn’t disclose any more details, however the information already spread online also refers to the Spider-Man wall mural not being in the movie either. Likely to avoid setting it in a specific universe.
With a marketing script filled keywords being thrown around in recent Morbius Vignette. Jared Leto says:
“The multiverse has officially opened… and there’s all kinds of opportunities for villains to meet up”
Jared Leto – Morbius Vignette
My theory is the studios could be waiting for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness or another future project to merge universes together to figure out where they want Morbius to finally be in for ‘villains to meet up‘. He could just be kept in his own separate universe at the moment.
Morbius releases in cinemas from April 1, 2022.
