Filming has begun for the final episode of The CW series The Flash. There are multiple speedster villain characters showing up, including a speedster that fans have been waiting a very long time for.
If you’ve been watching the episodes so far, Red Death is attempting to build a time machine and it seems that she will succeed.
One part of Red Death’s plan seems to involve bringing Barry Allen’s enemies back, including an unexpected return of someone once close to Iris.
Edit March 9: after watching episode 4 and 5, it looks like Red Dead is not responsible for the other villains coming back.
5 villains go up against The Flash
Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) faces the most deadliest fight of his life as he goes up against these villains appearing in the final episode: Zoom, Savitar, Reverse Flash, Godspeed and Cobalt Blue.
Who is Cobalt Blue?
The identity of Cobalt Blue in the comics is Malcom Thawne; the lost twin brother of Barry Allen and ancestor of Professor Zoom.
However, since Savitar is already a time remnant of Barry, and the story is different in The Flash TV series already. Rick Cosnett; who played Eddie Thawne will seemingly be coming back instead. Eddie is still Reverse Flash’s ancestor.
Rick Cosnett can be seen dressed as Cobalt Blue in one photo, alongside a second photo featuring a stunt double in another suit.
In earlier set photos from the beginning of February; Eddie Thawne is visiting his own grave and digging it up in season 9 – episode 11.
The character must have somehow been brought back to life, while also gaining his powers after being pulled into that wormhole at the end of the season 1 finale.
How will The Flash win against so many of his greatest adversaries?
With plenty of help from Team Flash and there are also Arrow characters and a hero from Supergirl returning to help Barry Allen.
John Wesley Shipp’s version of The Flash will also be coming back to bid farewell to the character.
