Marvel Studios has released a brand new trailer for The Marvels movie.
In this galactic adventure; Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) have to team up, as their powers become entangled with one-another. Everytime the superheroes use their abilities, they switch places.
There’s an extra look at the cat-like aliens called Flerkens, as well as Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) communicating with Captain Marvel about how she is doing in space.
What did Captain Marvel take from Dar-Benn?
A speech by Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton) in the trailer, offers more of a motive about why she is the villain of the movie. Dar-Benn says “Captain Marvel… ‘the annihilator‘! You took everything from me, now I’m returning the favour”.
It’s likely that Captain Marvel destroyed her home world, while defeating an enemy like the Avengers did with Ultron in Sokovia. Further on in the trailer, Carol Danvers says “She’s targeting every planet we call home”, suggesting this is a very personal vendetta.
The trailer also brings a callback to Spider-Man: No Way Home; featuring the revamped metallic Statue of Liberty.
The Marvels is set to release in November 10, 2023.
