At San Diego Comic Con 2022, Marvel Studios has revealed the first look at X-Men ’97.

This animated series is a continuation from the popular X-Men series that began in 1992 and the last episode was released in 1997.

Which characters are in X-Men ’97?

Magneto has undergone a massive transformation to become a hero in this series instead of a villain, and will now be the leader of the X-Men. In the X-Men line-up; Rogue, Beast, Gambit, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, Jubilee, Cyclops are confirmed to return. Also joining the team: Cable, Bishop, Morph, Nightcrawler and Sunspot.

More characters include: Emma Frost, Sebastian Shaw and Callisto.

Sentinels

The Sentinels are back to seek the destruction of mutants; these robots were created by Bolivar Trusk to hunt down anyone with the mutant gene.

When is X-Men ’97 going to be on Disney Plus?

Marvel Entertainment has officially released that X-Men ’97 is due to release during fall 2023 on Disney+.

Update: the series has now been delayed to early 2024 and will now release on March 20. Here is the official trailer for Marvel Animation’s X-Men ’97.
