There’s a new Rom-Com movie that’s been released nationwide in the US, it’s called Bros – directed by Nicholas Stoller.

Despite raving positive reviews from critics and celebrities about Bros movie, the title only recieved $4.8 million across opening weekend in the US.

Bros actor, Billy Eichner; known for his own comedy show Billy on the Street, was dismayed with the news and blamed homophobia in a now-deleted tweet for the films low numbers: ‘That’s just the world we live in, unfortunatley. Even with glowing reviews… straight people, especially in certain parts of the country just didn’t show up for Bros’.

Then the actor goes on to comment: ‘Everyone who ISN’T a homophobic weirdo should go see Bros‘.

What is Bros movie about?

The official synopsis claims that Bros is ‘Univeral Pictures… first Romantic Comedy from a major studio’ and is about ‘two gay men maybe, possibly, probably, stumbling towards love. Maybe. They’re both very busy.’

Although the movie has been in cinemas in the US since September 30, the movie has yet to be released here in the UK until October 28.

America is currently dealing with Hurricane Ian, that’s leaving a destructive path through the country. This may also have affected the numbers, however, Paramount Pictures’ movie Smile has opened with earning $22 million at the US domestic box office.
