Recently, the news was announced that HBO Max will be officially changing their streaming service name to ‘Max’ in the U.S. on May 23.

Warner Bros. Discovery has officially announced there will be a Harry Potter series in early-development, among many other projects releasing on Max, such as The Penguin.

Harry Potter series is going to be executively produced by J.K. Rowling. It’s also stated to be a faithful adaptation of the original books, which will be differing to the beloved movies that spanned from 2001 – 2011; starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.

If successful with this series, Warner Bros. Discovery is planning to make the series run for 10 years as well.

Announcement teaser

The announcement teaser is also seemingly still using the iconic movie soundtrack by John Williams, instead of creating a new theme.

It’s not been mentioned when the series will be releasing or how many episodes there will be.

THR first found out about the news of a Harry Potter TV series happening.
