Incredible sets being constructed for Beetlejuice 2 (video)

It’s been nearly 35 years since Tim Burton’s first Beetlejuice movie, that was released in 1988 and now there is finally a sequel in the works, with incredible sets being constructed, new additions to the cast and Tim Burton is back to direct.

In the first movie; the Maitlands became troubled ghosts; after an accident. The Deetz’ then made their situation worse, when they took over their home and started changing things.

Michael Keaton’s character Beetlejuice, is a bio-exorcist who turns up to help the ghosts with their living problems, however his pestilent way of working causes more chaos for them all.

Who is cast in Beetlejuice 2?

Beetlejuice 2 cast will see Michael Keaton return to the titular role, alongside Winona Ryder reprising as Lydia Deetz and introducing Jenna Ortega (Wednesday, Scream VI) as Lydia’s daughter.

Catherine O’Hara will also be returning as Delia Deetz, and there will reportedly be two new characters played by Monica Bellucci as Beetlejuice’s wife and Willem Dafoe as an afterlife law enforcement officer. Deadline also reports that Justin Theroux is cast in the film.

Currently, there are sets being built in East Corinth, Vermont (the same location from the first film).

This production includes the reconstructions of The Deetz House, Maitland Hardware Store, the bridge where the Maitlands had their accident, and there is also a Miss Shannon’s School For Girls.

Even though the front of Maitland’s Hardware store set is rebuilt. It’s not yet known if Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin will return as Barbara and Adam Maitland.
