It has felt like a long wait for the show to come back, since the first season of Marvel Studios Loki released just over 2 years ago, and now season two is imminently arriving on Disney+.

I was able to watch the first 2 episodes of Loki season 2 on the big screen at BFI Southbank, in London, and these episodes have been fantastic to watch so far.

Loki season 2 is so seamless, going from the end of the first season and these two episodes also keep up with the pacing that audiences have been accustomed to previously.

In episode one and two; these mainly serve as wrapping up some of the plot from season 1 and the springboarding the rest of season 2. The stakes are extremely high and judging by the end of the second episode, there’s only going to be more chaos ensuing for everyone!

There seems to be a lot more comedy written into the show; especially between between Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston, who are bouncing witty lines off eachother in this, which does work really well for the most part.

Although, there are some comedic lines written, that do keep repeating and characters rambling as if the writers are trying to make sure that the audience gets the joke.

Ke Huy Quan shines in his first Marvel appearance; as the TVA repair guy character ‘Ouroboros’, surprisingly the character is more involved in the series so far, and Quan has been a joy to watch in every minute of his screen time.

The production quality of the TVA sets are incredible, very consistent and the VFX for the timestream branches is still stunning to see.

Natalie Holt has managed to create more amazing soundtracks once again, that actually tops the previous soundtracks from the first season.

Final thoughts

It’s certainly an exciting and mischievious adventure to see play out so far!

I’m looking forward to what will happen in the rest of the series, as there was plenty here that was already unpacked in these first two episodes.
