A brand new trailer has been released for the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshows’ movie Wonka – Directed by Paul King
Official synopsis
‘Based on the extraordinary character at the center of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl’s most iconic children’s book and one of the best-selling children’s books of all time, “Wonka” tells the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.’
This trailer features Timothée Chalamet’s Willy Wonka having an extended interaction with Hugh Grant’s iteration of an Oompa Loompa. Wonka is a chocolate-maker; who is looking to dazzle the world with his creations, while also dealing with Slugsworth and a slew of other “bad guys” known as the Chocolatier Cartel.
Where is Charlie?
This film is more of a prequel to the Gene Wilder movie instead of being connected to the Johnny Depp film, and it is set around 25 years before Wonka gives the factory over to Charlie. The kid isn’t even born yet!
