BBC has posted a new official preview clip of The Doctor and Donna confronting The Toymaker, in the 60th anniversary special of Doctor Who: The Giggle.

There has also been an official synopsis released for this third and final special.

Official Synopsis

‘The giggle of a mysterious puppet is driving the human race insane. When the Doctor discovers the return of the terrifying Toymaker, he faces a fight he can never win.’ Official BBC site.

What happens in this Doctor Who clip?

In this clip, The Doctor (David Tennant) and Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) enter a toy shop, where The Toymaker (Neil Patrick Harris) is antagonizing them both and throwing bouncy balls at them. A fear sets in, as it becomes comes apparent to the Time Lord, that the shop owner is indeed “The Toymaker”; a very powerful and dangerous villain from the past. The Doctor demands that Donna get back to the TARDIS, as the scene intensifies.

During the third season of Doctor Who in 1966; William Hartnell’s Doctor first went up against The Celestial Toymaker (‘Celestial’ since removed in the 60th specials), played by Michael Gough. The Doctor had to win a series of games, in order to defeat him.

‘The Giggle’ airs on Saturday December 9, at 6:30pm, on BBC One, as well as on BBC iPlayer. This final special also releases on Disney Plus outside of UK and Ireland.
