Sam Wilson will be in What if…? Season 3 as Captain America

Fans have been wondering why Sam Wilson hasn’t shown up or referenced anywhere as Captain America since The Falcon and the Winter Soldier miniseries.

Besides the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World movie, there are more appearances coming for the character in What if…? season 3 as Captain America.

At the end of Avengers: Endgame in 2019, Steve Rogers gave the title of Captain America to his friend Sam Wilson, however Sam was still coming to terms with if he should take on that mantle.

Only during the 2021 Disney+ miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier; Sam Wilson prepared himself to be Captain America.

It’s been nearly 3 years since this miniseries and no other mention of Sam being Captain America has appeared in new content that’s been released.

Now, Marvel Studios has finally shared a glimpse of what’s to come during What If…? season 3 with four new images including Sam Wilson as Captain America.
