Marvel announces The Fantastic Four: First Steps cast

Marvel Studios has officially revealed the actors who are going to be in the upcoming superhero movie The Fantastic Four: First Steps; directed by Matt Shakman.

For some time there has been speculation surrounding names and fancasts for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. There was also recently the SAG-AFTRA Foundation; who accidentally revealed that Pedro Pascal is going to be in the movie.

Now, in a new artwork for Valentines Day posted by an official Marvel UK account, the rest of the cast has been confirmed.

Who is starring in The Fantastic Four: First Steps?

Marvel has confirmed the Fantastic Four cast to be Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible franchise) as Susan Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) as Ben Grimm/The Thing.

Update May 5, 2024: Julia Garner has been cast to be a Silver Surfer and Paul Walter Hauser is set to star in a role that’s not been revealed yet. Hauser could be voicing H.E.R.B.I.E., playing Mole Man or another character.

Update May 28, 2024: THR reports that Ralph Ineson has been cast to play Galactus.

Who is the robot?

The robot in the image is called H.E.R.B.I.E. (Humanoid Experimental B-Type Integrated Electronics) created by Mister Fantastic; the machine is an intelligent AI who assists the team with anything technology related, as well as searching for Galactus.

The film will be set in the 60s?

“The Thing” is holding a 1963 LIFE magazine, which features President Johnson. It seems by the look of their suit designs and these references, their story will be set in the 60’s first. In the framed image on the wall of Ben Grimm; he can be seen wearing a 1960s Apollo suit.

When is The Fantastic Four: First Steps releasing?

The Fantastic Four: First Steps now releases on July 25, 2025. It appears that Thunderbolts will likely change release dates again; as this is what the date was for this title… there wouldn’t be two Marvel films releasing on the same day.
