The BBC Press Office has just confirmed that Steven Moffat will return to the science-fiction series Doctor Who, as a writer for a new episode.
Steven Moffat is the former showrunner of Doctor Who and now this new episode that’s being written will be in the first season of Ncuti Gatwa’s iteration of the Fifteenth Doctor, alongside Millie Gibson as companion Ruby Sunday.
Moffat is also not new to writing episodes for Doctor Who; as he’s previously written multiple episodes on-and-off since 2005.
Julie-Anne Robinson (Bridgerton) is also confirmed to be directing this particular episode. Although, it’s not yet been mentioned what this episode this will be about.
On March 15, it was revealed that Doctor Who is changing what time new episodes first release on BBC iPlayer, coinciding with episodes arriving on Disney+. However, these times are mostly unsociable hours for the majority of Europe.
There is also a brand-new trailer being released this March 22 for Doctor Who season One.
When does Doctor Who come back?
Doctor Who returns this May 10 on Disney+, and May 11 on BBC iPlayer, as well as the regular primetime slot on BBC One.
