‘Silk: Spider Society’ reportedly not moving forward at Amazon

In 2022; Marvel series Silk: Spider Society was officially announced alongside a second title called Noir.

Now, THR reports that the Spider-Man spin-off series Silk: Spider Society is no longer moving forward at Amazon MGM Studios, and Sony Pictures is looking to shop this title elsewhere

This series would have been focusing on a character called Cindy Moon; who was bitten by the same spider that bit Peter Parker.

Angela Kang; who previously worked as a showrunner on The Walking Dead, was going to be working on this title alongside Phil Lord and Chris Miller. And at Chatter Box Film, we first reported in 2023 that Willow producer; Julia Cooperman was also hired as a Supervising Producer.

There is still a Noir series happening, and Nicolas Cage has been confirmed to play the live-action version of the character; who is a private investigator in 1930’s New York, ‘forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero’.

Cage previously voiced Spider-Man Noir in the animated Sony Spider-Verse movies: Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse. This series will be releasing on MGM+ and Prime Video.
