BBFC reveals spoilery details about some of the scenes from the Doctor Who finale episodes: The Legend Of Ruby Sunday and Empire of Death.
There’s been a lot of speculation about what is going to happen in the finale, especially with the mystery surround Ruby Sunday, and who is Susan Triad? And there’s only two episodes left to hopefully answer these questions.
BBFC is an age classification site which reviews content before it releases to the public and while there are justifications given for the content warnings, details may end up revealing spoilery details. These two episodes have been given a 12a age rating for moderate horror, and fantasy threat.
Under the content advice category: ‘Threat and horror’, the BBFC posted this on their site:
There are scenes of horror and fantastical threat involving an ancient, godlike creature and his sinister minions. Characters are possessed, making their voices distort and their faces turn sinister and emaciated. A person is transformed into crumbling sand, without gory detail. All of time and space hangs in the balance, with scenes of panic as terrified civilians flee a giant cloud of killer sand.
Action scenes involve gunfire and explosions. There are undetailed references to the death of a child and to teenage pregnancy, as well as a brief allusion to domestic abuse. Emotional scenes see a character shown a hologram image of her long-lost biological mother, though her face cannot be seen. Bad language includes ‘oh my God’ and ‘hell’.

There was a quick glimpse of a sandstorm attack shown in the Doctor Who season 1 trailer from two months ago as well. Although, people ‘being posessed by an ancient godlike creature and his minions’ have not been shown yet. This may well imply that Susan Triad is not the overall villain afterall?
The content advisory details also mention there is a teenage pregnancy involved, although it is unclear who this character is connected to, as there involves the death of a child, and domestic abuse.
