James Gunn and DC Studios have released the first teaser trailer for the animated series Creature Commandos, as well as the branding for DC Studios.

Creature Commandos will be releasing sometime this December, on streaming platform Max.

Official synopsis for Creature Commandos

Creature Commandos tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails…they’re your last, worst option.

In this teaser trailer; Amanda Waller and General Rick Flag Sr. both visit the Non-Human Internment Division at Belle Reve to recruit these locked up monsters to form a Task Force M. This teaser mostly serves as an introduction to the characters which were put together in 1980s comics.

Voice cast for Creature Commandos

The voice cast includes Steve Agee as Economos, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana, Anvsa Chalotra as Circe, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Frank Grillo as Rick Flagg Sr., Sean Gunn as GI Robot and Weasel, David, Harbour as Frankenstein, Alan Cudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, Indira Varma as The Bride and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

There is also a reveal of the logo which will be used to represent DC Studios going forward. James Gunn has taken this back to the classic logo.

Viola Davis is also getting her own show titled Waller, this was announced in 2023 along with slate of titles in DCU Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

Frank Grillo is not only voicing Rick Flag Sr. for animated content, the actor will also be reprising the role in live-action for James Gunn’s Superman movie, releasing on July 11, 2025.
