At San Diego Comic-Con Hall H, Marvel Studios has announced who will be playing Doctor Doom, as well as who will be directing two new Avengers movie.
Quite a lot of fans have been saying this for more than a year, and it’s actually become real! Robert Downey Jr. is now returning to Marvel, this time as Victor Von Doom.
Robert Downey Jr. entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008’s Iron Man, as the titular character. Tont Stark went up against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame and it was the power of the Infinity Gauntlet which took his life.
Ever since the multiverse saga began, anything became a possibility for actors to come back into the MCU as different characters.
Before the announcement happened, Downey Jr. posed for this image in a car; wearing a green cloak and holding a Doctor Doom mask.

When Downey Jr. walks out on stage, he’s surrounded by multiple people wearing Doctor Doom cloaks and the crowd erupts into cheers.
Robert Downey Jr. says on stage: “New Mask, same Task. What can I tell ya, I like playing complicated characters”.
Anthony Russo and Joe Russo will be directing the new movie titled Avengers: Doomsday (previously titled Avengers: Kang Dynasty), which will then build up to Avengers: Secret Wars; written by Stephen McFeely. Both starring Robert Downey Jr. And Secret Wars is also going to be directed by the Russo Brothers, set to release in May 2027.
Alan Silvestri will be composing the scores for both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
