On July 31, 2024; Former BBC newsreader, Huw Edwards pleaded guilty to accessing 41 indecent images of Children via Whatsapp.
In 2023, BBC no longer employed Edwards, he had been employed with the broadcaster since 1984, and now this court case has concluded with a guilty verdict, the corporation is seeking to remove as much association with Huw as possible.
During David Tennant’s era of Doctor Who, in episode 11 of series 2 titled “Fear Her”, 2006; The Doctor and Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) end up in 2012, where a child called Chloe is being bullied by an evil entity claiming to be her father. She is able to draw images that come to life, however these drawing also make people vanish.
While the disgraced former BBC newsreader is not visibly seen; Huw Edwards’ voice can be heard throughout; commentating news coverage about the London 2012 Olympic games.
On August 2, BBC has now taken this episode down from BBC iPlayer. Edward’s voice will likely be replaced with an actor’s voice, as this news coverage happens multiple times during the episode.
Update: A BBC spokesperson has now informed TV Zone that “An episode of Doctor Who has been temporarily removed from BBC iPlayer to be re-dubbed.”

When commenting on Huw Edward’s situation overall, a spokesperson for the BBC said:
“The BBC is shocked to hear the details which have emerged in court today. There can be no place for such abhorrent behaviour and our thoughts are with all those affected.”
