Disney has showcased their upcoming slate of movie and tv show content at this years D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
There are a few Marvel titles in this list amongst other content from Pixar and Lucasfilm, which will release in cinemas and shows on Disney+. However, this is not every title as there’s a second D23 showcase which is going to be happening soon presenting Marvel Animation titles.
What was announced at this years D23 Expo?

Incredibles 3
A third Incredibles film has been announced to be in-development from Pixar, and Brad Bird is returning to direct. The second film was released in 2018, and this sequel garnered $1.2 billion at the box office worldwide!
Toy Story 5
It’s been announced since February 2023 that Toy Story 5 is happening, however there is now more on what the film is about and who is directing this fifth installmant. Andrew Stanton will be directing Toy Story 5. Stanton worked on previous Toy Story films and other Pixar titles such as WALL-E and Finding Nemo.
Andrew Stanton says at the event “in all of the Toy Story films, above anything else; the job of the toys has been to be there for their kids. And with Toy Story 5; the toys’ jobs get exponentially harder, when our toy crew go head-to-head with what kids are obsessed with today… electronics.”
The film will explore toys vs electronics, and there is also an army of evil Buzz Lightyears to go up against.
Tim Allen and Tom Hanks are coming back to voice Buzz and Woody in Toy Story 5, and this animated film is currently scheduled to release in cinemas on June 19, 2026. See more 2026 cinema release dates here.
Frozen III
Disney is working on the third Frozen movie, which is aiming for a 2027 release date.
There’s also a separate stage musical for Frozen, which was filmed live on-stage performed by Samantha Banks, this will be available to view on Disney Plus, in 2025.
Win or Loose
This is Pixar’s first original series for Disney Plus titled Win or Loose. An animated series about a middle school softball team training to compete in a championship. Win or Loose premieres on December 6, 2024.

Dream Productions
Disney and Pixar has announced a new series called Dream Productions; inspired by the world of Inside Out. This series will be releasing on Disney+ in 2025.
Zootopia 2
A sequel to Zootopia is in-development, and this film release on November 26, 2025.

Elio
Elio is an animated adventure movie; the cast includes Yonas Kibreab and Zoe Saldaña. The film releases in cinemas on June 13, 2025.
Hoppers
Disney is labelling this as a “crazy, funny, action-packed” original animated film, which is set to release sometime in 2026. There was a brief teaser shown at the event which reveals that it’s a body-swap style story, scientists have the ability to put a human mind into a robot animal, and Mabel is the young girl puts her mind into a beaver. She goes undercover in the animal kingdom.

The voice cast includes Jon Hamm, Bobby Moynihan and Piper Curda. Hoppers is currently scheduled to release on March 6, 2026.
Mufasa: The Lion King | official trailer
This a prequel movie directed by Barry Jenkins; exploring the origins of Mufasa and the prince who eventually becomes Scar. There was also music performed for the new movie.
The cast includes Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Braelyn Hankins, Theo Somolu, Anika Noni Rose, Seth Rogen, and Billy Eichner.
Mufasa: The Lion King is set to release in cinemas this December 20. See more 2024 cinema release dates here.
Skeleton Crew | official trailer
Jude Law stars in this Goonies-esque Star Wars adventure series titled Skeleton Crew. This series will be streaming on Disney Plus this December 3.
The Mandalorian & Grogu
As officially revealed in January 2024; The Mandalorian and Grogu’s story is continuing as a film in cinemas. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni presented a a teaser only at the event, which shows Din Djarin and Grogu going on new missions by air, land, sea and outer space. Garazeb Orrelios makes an appearance helping Mando, and AT-ATs attacking.
The Mandalorian and Grogu movie is set to release in cinemas on May 22, 2026. See more 2026 cinema release dates here.
Andor
Diego Luna returns for season 2 of Andor, and Ben Mendelsohn is appearing as Director Krennic.
Agatha All Along | official trailer
Marvel recently released a teaser which we covered a breakdown of, however there is now an official trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series – starring Kathryn Hahn. Premiering on September 18, 2024.
Fantastic Four: First Steps score and teaser details
Michael Giacchino presented the first teaser of his score from the upcoming Fantastic Four: First Steps movie.
There was also a new teaser shown at this event, where the Fantastic Four cast are preparing for a flight into space and glimpses of Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) teaching a class of children, Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Reed interacting as they suit up in their spaceflight suits. A quick glimpse of Galactus peering through windows, and H.E.R.B.I.E reacting to this.
A first look at Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn) in his Human Torch/Fantastic Four suit, as the cast give a speech to the D23 audience.
Ironheart teaser details
There was a teaser shown at the event which shows Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) expelled from MIT due to skipping classes and using university resources to build advanced suits. There’s also scenes with Anthony Ramos as The Hood, as well as test flight scenes and a truck being destroyed by Ironheart.
Ironheart is set to premiere on Disney+, on September 3, 2025.
Daredevil: Born Again
A teaser trailer was also shown at D23 for Daredevil: Born Again, Marvel is yet to release this online. The teaser shows Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) warning Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) to not get out of line while in a diner. The arrest of White Tiger; who was fighting people in a subway and Murdock talking to him in prison.
There’s also multiple Daredevil masks featured, Wilson Bethal’s Bullseye walking with prison clothes and escorted by guards, Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel’s father Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapoor) being rescued by Daredevil.
Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/The Punisher confronting Matt Murdock at his boxing establishment. Multiple Daredevil fight scenes and Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) is in a rage, and seen dining with Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer). Foggy (Elden Hensen) and Karen (Deborah Ann Woll) briefly seen in the street. Read more details about the show including the Daredevil: Born Again cast list so far.
Daredevil: Born Again is premiering sometime in March 2025. Kevin Feige also announced and confirmed there will be a season 2.
Captain America: Brave New World
Another trailer was revealed at D23, this shows a new look at Harrison Ford’s transform into Red Hulk, an extended scene of Sam Wilson confronting president Ross, Giancarlo Esposito as Seth Voelker, shooting at Wilson in his car.
Freakier Friday
Freakier Friday is a sequel to the 2003 Freaky Friday movie, which is currently being filmed. This sees the return of Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis; who will of course switch bodies once again. Also starring Chad Michael Murray and Mark Harmon. There was title card revealed for the film, releasing in cinemas sometime in 2025.
Lilo & Stitch movie
There is a live-action Lilo & Stitch movie in-development, releasing in cinemas during Summer 2025.
Snow White | Teaser Trailer
A teaser trailer has been revealed for the new Snow White movie. This is a musical movie directed by Marc Webb; who directed The Amazing Spider-Man films.
Snow White stars Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen and Rachel Zegler as the titular character – set to release in cinemas on March 21, 2025.
Moana 2 | Official trailer
Dwayne Johnson is back to voice Maui, in the world of Moana, and there’s also are peformances on stage from Auliʻi Cravalho; who voices the titular character.
A new trailer for Moana 2 was also posted online, the film is set to release in cinemas on November 27, 2024.
Tron: Ares
Jeff Bridges is returning once again as his character Kevin Flynn. At the end of Tron: Legacy; Flynn remained behind in the Grid, and his son Sam Flynn and ISO Quorra managed to escape to the real world.
It’s not yet revealed if Garret Hedlund and Olivia Wilde are coming back, however Gillian Anderson, Jared Leto, Cameron Monaghan, Evan Peters and Greta Lee are set to star. Leto’s character has already been revealed to be Ares.
There was a teaser shown at this event which hasn’t been officially released, Empire Magazine describes what happened in the teaser: ‘An epic Tron Ares trailer just played. It revealed Jared Leto’s Ares making his way into our world, real life lightcycle battles, and a cop car split in half by a lightcycle beam. Oh, and Jeff Bridges is back in messianic mode.’
Disney did however post this video teasing music from the film and who will be composing the music for Tron: Ares; Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross from Nine Inch Nails. Previously Daft Punk composed the music for Tron: Legacy, which remains to be some of the best Sci-Fi movie soundtracks.
Tron: Ares is set to release in cinemas on October 10, 2025.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
A second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians starring Walker Scobell, officially starts production, and this will be premiering sometime in 2025.
Avatar: Fire and Ash
Director, James Cameron with Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña announce the next installmant of Avatar is titled Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Avatar: Fire and Ash is currently set to release in cinemas on December 19, 2025.
Besides the movie and TV content, Disney is also creating London West End musical for Hercules; for audiences in Summer 2025. There’s also a stage adaptation of The Greatest Showman, currently in-development.
