Kevin Feige teases bringing Scarlet Witch back into the MCU

At Disney’s D23 event in Brazil, Kevin Feige teases bringing Scarlet Witch back into a future MCU project.

In the Marvel Studios film Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness; Wanda went on a rampage through the multiverse, in order to find her kids. This led to her thirst for as much power as possible to achieve this.

While harnessing the Darkhold, she was consumed and manipulated by the evil book, and by the end of the film Wanda scared her variant’s kids, and realized her intentions were wrong. She chose to sacrifice herself, as well as destroying all remaining copies of the Darkhold.

President of Marvel Studios; Kevin Feige teased the return of Scarlet Witch when saying this:

“We just had Agatha All Along on Disney+, and that series was great for us. Since then, there have been a lot of questions about Wanda on the minds of fans. I can only say that we are excited to find out when and how the Scarlet Witch can come back.”

How could Scarlet Witch return?

Considering that Marvel still wants to bring this character back, I can think of a few theories about the ways she could come back:

If Scarlet Witch truly died at the end of the film, there could be someone holding on to her soul… possibly Mephisto or another character who has taken her to use as leverage over another. Maybe Tommy ends up finding her while searching for his brother.
During the Agatha All Along Disney+ series; Tommy and Billy’s souls end up finding new bodies to occupy after the events of WandaVision; which could mean that Scarlet Witch may not even “leap” into the same body played by Elizabeth Olsen and instead another actress.
Marvel could also bring a variant of Wanda Maximoff from another universe, as there are many including a zombie version in the What if…? Series, as well as the variant already seen during Multiverse of Madness.
If Scarlet Witch didn’t die and still somehow survived while Mount Wundagore was crumbling down on top of her. She may have been transported to somewhere else. This place is likely going to be Battleworld, where characters would have to fight in Secret Wars.

It’s not yet know if there will be a “Battleworld” in any of the live-action stories yet, although there is an Avengers: Secret Wars film in the works, releasing in May 2027. Robert Downey Jr. will be playing the villain known as “Doctor Doom”, across both Doomsday and Secret Wars movies.
