New Thunderbolts trailer confirms who bought Avengers Tower

The Thunderbolts team up as they appear shocked looking up at something off screen

Marvel Studios released an official trailer for the upcoming MCU film Thunderbolts, finally revealing who bought Avengers Tower.

After nearly a decade of waiting to find out who bought the Avengers Tower, which was previously owned by Tony Stark. The official trailer has finally answered this question puzzling fans; which led to dozens of theories.

The Director of CIA; Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) has bought the Avengers Tower. In the trailer, as the Thunderbolts team exit the elevator,  Val gets a drink behind the bar, and says to them:

“How crazy is it to think of all the monumental fights that happened exactly here where you are standing. I mean the place wasn’t cheap but… It’s got good optics.”

Why did Val buy the Avengers tower?

Likely, one of the reasons why Val bought the Avengers tower was due to finding out about Sentry (Lewis Pullman). Also, in the comics Sentry once used this location for The Watchtower.

Valentina must have seen an opportunity to be able to control an incredibly powerful character to carry out her missions, and this is likely the “good optics” she is really referring to.

If Marvel Studios follow the comics with this aspect, it would mean that The Watchtower was there for a while disguised/mentally hidden or underneath the building. Other people including Sentry don’t remember the existence of it. I wrote more about this in a separate article when the teaser was released.
