Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning teaser brings back Angela Bassett

Mission: Impossible 8 is one of the highly anticipated movies releasing in 2025; where Tom Cruise will no doubt showcase more death-defying stunts.

Paramount Pictures has now released the first teaser trailer, poster and synopsis for the newly retitled eighth installment Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning; directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

It’s a very brief synopsis in the press release which reads: ‘Our lives are the sum of our choices. Tom Cruise is Ethan Hunt’.

Ethan is still going up against an AI, which can predict his every move. The keys to the Sevastopol submarine unlocks The Entity; giving the keyholder complete access to the source code and the ability to control the world with this powerful AI computer.

Gabriel (Esai Morales) and government agencies from multiples countries are looking to acquire this computer for themselves.

There will likely be further exploration about the past of Hayley Atwell’s character “Grace” as well. By the end of Dead Reckoning, she now works for IMF.

The teaser trailer also highlights various moments from previous films in the franchise, and more of Tom Cruise full-on sprinting through multiple cities.

Will someone sacrifice themselves in the 8th film?

Ilsa Faust was killed by Gabriel in Dead Reckoning, and the trailer insinuates that Ethan may lose more people closest to him. Who could be next? It’s more than likely that Ving Rhames’ Luther may die; he has been there all along, ever since the 1996 film. He may risk his life to save Ethan and Benji in a part of the mission.

Who did Angela Bassett play in Mission Impossible?

Angela Bassett is returning to her role as CIA Director, Erika Sloane. The character was last seen in Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018).

The Olympics 2024 stunt
