Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent, revealing himself as Superman in a Daily Planet interview with Janet Olsen

Superman revealed his identity to the world in episode 7 of Superman and Lois titled “A Regular Guy”.

Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) has faced some of his hardest times in the final season of Superman and Lois; from being killed by Doomsday, to his father-in-law dying, and then coming back to life to see Lex terrorizing his family and other Smallville citizens into selling their land.

He has also been coming to terms with aging more rapidly due to General Lane’s heart being used for his transplant.

However, since baby Clark landed his spaceship in Kansas, he’s had to keep his powers and identity a secret from the world. Even when he became Superman and later had a family, he had to protect this secret, until now!

There were also flashbacks in this episode; meeting Jimmy Olsen and his sister at the Daily Planet, as well as Jimmy figuring out who we was fairly early on.

In the flashbacks, the show also pays homage to the saves from the Christopher Reeve Superman movie scenes: saving the helicopter falling from the Daily Planet, train track rescue, and the Eiffel Tower elevator incident in Paris.

Clark Kent decides to finally accept that he can no longer keep his identity a secret from the world, leading him to arrange an interview with Janet Olsen, in order to let everyone know that he is Superman. It’s also one less thing that Lex can try to pressure him with.

In a separate universe, for the Supergirl series starring Melissa Benoist; Kara also revealed her identity as Supergirl in the same way, by a television interview with Cat Grant.

It appears that by the end of this seventh episode; it’s Lex Luthor who was responsible for getting Candice’s father Emmitt Pergandes (Adrian Glynn McMorran), to confront Clark in the diner about his identity. Especially when Emmitt said “He was right”, it’s a clear indication that it wasn’t Candice who told him.

In the sixth episode, it was mentioned that Lex is getting a super-suit. There are three episodes left to go until the show is completely finished, and it’s expected that Superman and Luthor will likely have another big fight.
