Here’s everything we know so far about Marvel Studios’ 2025 film The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Disney has released the official synopsis for the superhero film, as well as previously revealing the cast line-up.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/The Thing as they face their most daunting challenge yet.

Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner).

And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

There is also a first look at Joseph Quinn in his Human Torch suit, and teaser description from when audiences were showcased promotional clips for the film at Disney’s 2024 D23 event. As well other content discussed such as Incredibles 3, Toy Story 5, Daredevil: Born Again…

Who has been cast in the 2025 Fantastic Four movie?

Marvel announced some of the cast and artwork on February 14, 2024, however there has since been more cast revealed:

Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic
Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm/Invisible Woman
Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch
Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing
Julia Garner as Silver Surfer
Ralph Ineson as Galactus
John Malkovich – role unknown
Paul Walter Hauser – role unknown
Natasha Lyonne – role unknown
Sarah Niles – role unknown

At the moment, there’s an advanced robot called H.E.R.B.I.E. in the film, and one of the actors with an unknown role could be voicing it. There is also online speculation that Mole Man and The Puppet Master could be in the film.

Marvel Animation’s What If…? Season 3 trailer features a character called Byrdie, and she is voiced by Natasha Lyonne; it’s quite possible that Lyonne may appear as this same character in live-action as well.

Update: Marvel has wrapped filming on November 30th.
