In August 2024, BBC made the decision to remove an episode which featured commentary by Huw Edwards.

This was a direct action following the controversy surrounding Huw Edwards’ guilty verdict of having indecent images of children.

It has been six months since this Doctor Who episode from David Tennant’s era was removed and now season 2 episode 11 “Fear Her” is finally back on BBC iPlayer!

However, this is 2006 episode is now without disgraced newsreader Huw Edwards included, and the role has been edited and replaced with actor, Becky Wright as the commentator.

Becky Wright has been involved in multiple Doctor Who projects before in podcast series for Big Finish such as “The War Doctor”, “The Fugitive Doctor”, and “UNIT: The New Series”.

Update February 14, 2025: BBC has taken the episode down yet again.

In the new edit with Becky Wright replacing Huw Edwards; the editor missed out removing more of Edwards talking, therefore it has to be edited further.

When is the new season of Doctor Who coming out?

There’s not a specific date yet, although this season is releasing sometime this year (possibly May 2025).

Back in December 2024, a new teaser trailer was also released for season 2 starring Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor.

Varada Sethu, Millie Gibson are returning alongside Ncuti Gatwa.
