Director; Edgar Wright, has taken to social media to announce that filming has wrapped for The Running Man, on March 28, 2025.
This film is based on the science-fiction novel with the same title, written by renowned author Stephen King (under the pen name Richard Bachman).
There was previously a film adaptation in 1987 starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
However, this new film is set to release in 2025, with Glen Powell taking on the Ben Richards tole; a person who is framed for the massacre of civilians and is then placed into this dystopian violent television game show called The Running Man.
Ben Richards and other contestants are hunted down, while audiences bet on who lives and dies: the contestant or the hunter.
The game show host is called Bobby Thompson played by Colman Domingo (Fear the Walking Dead, Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man).
Dan Killian is the show’s producer played by Josh Brolin (The Goonies, Old Boy, Deadpool 2).
Edgar Wright shares a photo with Glen Powell, holding a card of signatures from the cast and crew on Instagram:

When is The Running Man releasing?
The Running Man is releasing in cinemas on November 7, 2025.
