Tom Holland is back for his fourth installment titled ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘; directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). The movie has multiple cast and filming updates, as well as a new Spider-Man suit reveal.

Filming for Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day began on August 1st; where over 50 streets of Glasgow, Scotland are being set up to look like New York: American flags on buildings, yellow taxis, New York emergency vehicles, and various food vendors. The filming is set to finish around August 15. Filming also takes place in London, Morocco and Italy.
There’s also a tank in the street where Spider-Man will be swinging around the corner of a building and then landing on this tank.
Tom Holland’s stunt double; Luke Scott is seen on the tank. There is a logo which could be a specific Punisher symbol, or this might be the “Inner Demons” symbol present on the side of the vehicle; hinting at the possibility of Mister Negative appearing in the film.
Although, there has yet to be any actors confirmed for Mister Negative or the character announced for the film. In 2022, actor Stephen Oyoung expressed interest in portraying Mister Negative if he ever appeared in live-action. Stephen Oyoung is the actor who played Mister Negative for Insomniac’s Spider-Man 1 & 2 games.
August 3 filming update

August 4
Filming in Glasgow has halted as Storm Floris makes its way to the UK. According to BBC/Met Office, there is heavy rain and 50-70mph winds forecast to be affecting Glasgow, other parts of Scotland possibly reaching 80-90mph, on Monday, August 4.

New suit revealed
The first look at Tom Holland in his new Spider-Man suit has been revealed in a video.
This suit is similiar to the one shown at the end of Spider-Man No Way Home, although this was CG-only and there wasn’t a real suit for the scene made until this new film, and it is inspired by Peter seeing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s suit design iterations.
The suit has raised webbing, a raised emblem and quite bulky wrist web shooters to give it that homemade student-on-a-budget feel. Peter Parker doesn’t have access to Stark’s funding, and I’m not sure if Happy Hogan is assisting anymore to build these suits just without knowing Spider-Man’s idenity; as the world has forgotten who Peter Parker is, at the end of No Way Home.

After the storm paused filming for one day, the film crew is back to being on set in Glasgow, where Luke Scott; a stunt double for Tom Holland, is performing swinging scene stunt rehearsals.
August 7
Tom Holland was at Brookwood Cemetery, London filming location where he filmed a scene at Aunt May’s grave.
August 14
The Punisher’s black van from the comics has arrived on set with Spider-Man in the scene. There is one more day before filming ends in this location.
When is Spider-Man Brand New Day releasing?
Spider-Man Brand New Day is currently set to release in cinemas on July 31, 2026.
