Lucasfilm announced that production has now begun on the 2027 film Star Wars: Starfighter, as well as information about the cast and release date.
Shawn Levy (Deadpool and Wolverine, Jett Jackson) is directing and producing, and Ryan Gosling is starring in the film, as well as executive producing alongside Dan Levine, Mary McLaglen, and Josh McLaglen. Jonathan Topper has written the script.
What is the movie about?
There’s currently very little plot details revealed about the film. Although, on the official Star Wars site, it is stated that ‘Star Wars: Starfighter is an all-new standalone adventure… an entirely original story set in a period of time never before explored…’
The story is also reportedly set five years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
