Trick ’r Treat was unfortunately not very good, and I found myself feeling very bored throughout most of the film. The story never really managed to fully engage me or hold my attention for long stretches. The pacing felt uneven, and while the concept had potential, the execution didn’t work for me.
The film explores several different storylines, all of which take place on Halloween. It’s very similar to Love Actually; in the way the stories are made and the layout style of the film even though the subject matter and tone are very different.
From a technical standpoint, the 4K presentation did look ok. It isn’t the best or most impressive 4K transfer I’ve seen, nor is it especially shiny or eye-catching, but it is still a noticeable improvement over the Blu-ray. Details are clearer, and the image has more depth overall, even if it doesn’t fully take advantage of the format.
