Warner Bros. and Netflix have announced that production has begun in Atlanta for the live-action series of Scooby-Doo, as well as the synopsis and cast details.
The new series is titled Scooby-Doo: Origins, about the beginnings of the Mystery Inc.

‘During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.’

- Tanner Hagen as Shaggy
- Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma
- Maxwell Jenkins as Fred
There’s yet to be confirmation about who is voicing Scooby… Frank Welker has been a prominent voice for Scooby from 2002, with multiple others also taking on the role, it’s possible Welker could return. There’s also no information for who the supernatural villains will be. Paul Walter Hauser has also joined the cast.
When is Scooby-Doo: Origins releasing on Netflix?
There’s currently no premiere date for Scooby-Doo Origins, however the series is expected to release in 2027.
