Black Panther III and Ghost Rider movies announced and cast revealed

Marvel Studios has appeared at the 2026 San Diego Comic Con with announcements of additions to their future MCU slate. There has been actors and release dates revealed for Black Panther III, Ghost Rider, as well as VisionQuest.

A third Black Panther movie is in the works with Ryan Coogler returning to direct, as well as who the next Black Panther will be.

During the second film: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever; Shuri (Letitia Wright) took on the mantle of Black Panther, and by the end of the film it was revealed that T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) has a son. David Jonsson (Alien Romulus, The Long Walk) has been cast as T’Challa’s now grown up son, and Jonsson has become the new Black Panther. Letitia Wright and M’Baku (Winston Duke) are also on stage reprising for the third film.

When is Black Panther 3 releasing?

Black Panther III will be shot large format celluloid film and is currently set to release in cinemas on December 15, 2028.

Who is starring in the new Ghost Rider movie?

It was revealed that Ryan Gosling will be the new Ghost Rider, although it’s not specified which one Gosling will play… it’s more than likely going to be a new iteration of Johnny Blaze, or possibly another character called Danny Ketch.

The two most known iterations in live action so far have been Robbie Reyes (Gabriel Luna), as seen in Agents of Shield, and Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage), as seen in the Ghost Rider (2007, 2011) movies.

There has also been Parker Robbins/The Hood (Anthony Ramos), appearing in live action as a version of Ghost Rider, in the Disney+ miniseries Ironheart. It’s also finally the miniseries where Mephisto (Sacha Baron Cohen) has been introduced into the MCU.

Shawn Levy (Deadpool and Wolverine, Night at the Museum) is set to direct this new Ghost Rider movie. Levy is also directing the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter film, with Ryan Gosling starring. Jonathan Tropper who is also writing the script for Star Wars: Starfighter, will also write the script for Ghost Rider.

When will Ghost Rider release in cinemas?

The Ghost Rider movie doesn’t have a specific date yet, however it is slated to release in 2028.

New announcement for VisionQuest

VisionQuest is an upcoming Disney+ miniseries directed by Terry Matalas (12 Monkeys, Star Trek: Picard) focusing on Paul Bettany’s Vision struggling to adapt from resurrecting after the events of WandaVision (2021).

Who was also cast in VisionQuest?

While Vision is setting into his new form as White Vision, he begins seeing personificiations of past characters and other objects. James Spader reprises as a human form of Ultron, Todd Stashwick stars as bounty hunter “Paladin”. There is also Wanda and Vision’s grown up son Tommy Maximoff (Ruaridh Mollica); who was formed into the real world by his brother Billy, at the end of Agatha All Along.

Also starring is: Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., Henry Lewis as D.U.M.-E, James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S. and Jonathan Sayer as U.

VisionQuest finally gets a release date

Marvel Studios announced that VisionQuest will premiere on Disney+ this year, on October 14, 2026.
