72 Hours film review
72 Hours follows Joe (Kevin Hart), a wealthy but not overly rich executive who finds himself on a bachelor party trip with a group of young adults, only for the weekend to take a dangerous turn.
I enjoyed this film far more than many of the other comedy films I’ve watched recently. The characters were engaging, and I thought the plot was strong, even if some of the comedy didn’t always land. The cast is fantastic, and they all have great chemistry, which made the group dynamic fun to watch. I also liked how the film occasionally shifted into a minor action movie, adding moments that helped keep the story entertaining. I also appreciated that the movie wasn’t filled with random, pointless swearing just for the sake of getting a laugh.
There are also some surprisingly emotional and heartfelt moments throughout the film, which gave the story a little more depth than I was expecting. Overall, while not every joke worked, I found 72 Hours to be an enjoyable and entertaining comedy with a great cast, plenty of chemistry, and a nice mix of comedy, action, and emotion.
Little Brother film review
Little Brother is a movie that follows A famous real estate agent called Rudd (John Cena) when his “little brother” from a mentorship program, Marcus (Eric André), unexpectedly reappears and refuses to leave.
Little brother had a good start and the cast did a good job but as the film went on I found it getting worse and worse and I just wasn’t interested in it at all. Most of the jokes and comedy didn’t land for me and it felt like the story could have been improved. I did think it got slightly better in its last 20 minutes or so but besides that unfortunately I wasn’t very keen as I just didn’t connect much to the story or characters and was rather bored. The cast have good comedic timing and are great actors but It’s an ok story and simple, and I wouldn’t watch again.
Don’t say Good luck film review
Don’t say Good Luck follows a girl called Sophie (Sunny Sandler) whose mum is unwell and dying of cancer while she is rehearsing for the school musical.
The film is ok but I also found it sad. One of the aspects I enjoyed is that it shows you the girl Sophie rehearsing and acting in the school musical and I believe this is what connected me more to the story and characters. The film is unique as it explores the characters having to deal with what is going to happen to their family. This stood out to me because many films that explore similar themes focus mainly on memories or introduce the situation at the beginning of the story, whereas this film shows the characters having to confront what is happening as the story progresses.
I did not feel fully invested in the story, which made some parts less engaging for me. I also felt that the film ended quite abruptly. Although I would have preferred a bit of a better ending, I believe the sudden ending may have been a creative choice. As the characters have no idea exactly when the death will happen, the abrupt ending could reflect the idea that death cannot be planned for or predicted. In this sense, the ending may be intended to show how suddenly life can change.
Outer Banks season 5 ep 1 and 2 review
Outer Banks season 5 picks off right after season 4 left off. Unfortunately, the first episode, after the first few minutes although exciting felt a bit more like filler and rather slow-paced. However, the second episode has a much better and more engaging story and plot. I felt far more invested and engaged in the second episode and it didn’t feel like it dragged or was slow-paced.
The vast beautiful locations help the world of Outer Banks feel immersive. While score and music helps build tension. The cast is all fantastic and work well together. As the characters grow throughout the seasons so do the tension and stakes! the final season seems to be leaning further into action, chases, and high-stakes moments.
Overall, I’m excited to see how everything ends as we head into the final season of the show!
