National Cinema Day UK 2026 is returning for two days

National Cinema Day is returning to the UK as a newly expanded National Cinema Weekend, for this 2026.

Cinema First created the event in 2022, however the last one was in 2024, there was no event last year in the UK due to the 2025 National Cinema Day being put on hold. Now, there is going to be a National Cinema Weekend instead.

Cinema First has expanded the promotional celebration into two days for over 530 UK cinemas, with ticket prices only costing £4 each.

The £4 ticket price covers nearly all formats such as 2D, 3D, Screen X, 4DX, IMAX, (except IMAX is £6 in Cineworld), for any seats and any film screenings available.

When is National Cinema Weekend?

National Cinema Weekend is happening on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th, September 2026.

There are current films in the cinemas such as Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Insidious: Out the Further, Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie, Minions & Monsters, Toy Story 5, Coyote Vs. Acme, The Odyssy, One Night Only and more.
