There is a Doctor Who extended movie cut arriving in cinemas this year starring David Tennant & Billie Piper.
It is not a newly filmed project, it is The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit episodes from series 2 (2006); which has been recut to turn it into an extended movie, however this cut does also include never-before seen footage, as well as ‘previously deleted scenes restored into the story for the first time.’
BBC Studios, CinemaLive and Fathom Entertainment will be releasing this extended movie in over 1,000 cinemas for one-night-only.
It’s been 20 years since The Doctor (David Tennant) and Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) arrived on an outpost orbiting black hole, where they come up against something older than time that even the TARDIS can’t translate the language, something so sinister that leaves The Doctor terrified: The Beast beneath the surface.
The Satan Pit: Extended Movie Cut is going to be in cinemas for one-night only on November 23rd, across the UK, Ireland, U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The tickets go on sale on September 25th, 2026 at 9am local time. Here is the extended movie cut trailer.
