It’s been 26 years since the Good Burger movie was released and now a sequel is in the works.
On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell announce there will be a sequel to the hit-comedy movie Good Burger.
“Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger – Part 2!” says Kel Micthell.
Kenan and Kel will be reprising their same roles: Dexter and Ed.
Kenan Thompson mentions when filming will begin “we’re going to shoot it this Summer, and it’ll be out soon.” The Hollywood Reporter also write that production is to begin in May and is also looking to release in 2023, on Paramount+.
The first Good Burger movie from Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Studios was released in 1997.
Good Burger restaurant went up against a rival mega food-chain called Mondo Burger; where they were putting chemicals in their food, in order make them larger and bring more people in.
The sequel will follow both Dexter and Ed in a present day restaurant, with a new group of employees.
There isn’t a set title yet, however there’s already a book tie-in sequel to the first movie called Good Burger 2 Go, published by Dan Schneider and Steve Holland in 1998, they may choose the same title.
