On November 3, Prime Video’s animated adult superhero series Invincible, will be returning for a second season.
There are a total of eight episodes in season two, and our site has been sent the first four episodes, to review.
Synopsis
‘Based on the groundbreaking comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the story revolves around 18-year-old Mark Grayson, who’s just like every other guy his age—except his father is (or was) the most powerful superhero on the planet.’
‘Still reeling from Nolan’s betrayal in Season One, Mark struggles to rebuild his life as he faces a host of new threats, all while battling his greatest fear – that he might become his father without even knowing it.’
Review
Invincible Season 2 is bigger in scope than it ever was before, and it has been awesome so far! A stong first episode; being an explosive start to kick off this new season.
It is an exciting expansion of storylines for both new and returning characters, who are introduced into this show. From being emotionally heartfelt character driven episodes to chaotic action-packed scenes.

The show leans further into the drama, and psychology of multiple characters in episode 2, and that was great for building character development, although slower in pace compared to the other three episodes.
There are quite a few shocking and jaw-dropping moments across these four episodes, the stakes are also incredibly high.
Episodes 3 and 4 are not exactly how I thought the direction of the show would go in terms of story development, however it is certainly a major impact to the story. Episode 3 is a balance between being raunchier and tragic at the same time and then episode 4 is insanely action-packed and gorey.
Final thoughts
This new season continues with a consistent level of high quality animation since the first, and actually looks to be improved with more fluid character movements. I really enjoy watching the story being told in this style.
The animators (Wind Sun Sky Entertainment/Skybound North) have done a fantastic job with this series, and the writers certainly take the audience through an entertaining and jaw-dropping adventure.
If the final four episodes of season 2 are going to be just as wild or crazier than episodes 1, 3 and 4, then this is going to be epic to look foward to.
Prime Video are succeeding with having these type of superhero content on their platform, both animated and live-action; including The Boys and now Gen V; also proving to be a hit.
