There has recently been a package design image which has surfaced online for Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4 movie.
Two variations of the packaging designs were shared online by Christopher Metzger; who is currently the creative director and brand strategist for Marvel’s toy line.

The red and blue packaging design features the iconic Raimi Spider-Man suit and white outlined emblem along with two alternate character poses in a web swinging positon through a comically forced perspective city.
The white feathered out centre of the design would have brought focus to the action figure.
These unused designs are what could have been seen on store shelves if the movie was made.
What would have happened in Spider-Man 4?
Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4 would have seen Tobey Maguire make a swinging return to cinemas in May 6, 2011, with Kirsten Dunst also reprising her roles as MJ.
In the fourth movie there was also going to introduce Vulture and Black Cat. In the storyboards by Jeff Henderson; Spider-Man is in a brutal fight with the Vulture, as they both tumble into buildings across New York.
Why was Spider-Man 4 cancelled?
The movie was cancelled due to studio interference from Sony Pictures involving Sam Raimi’s creative direction and the general audiences negative reaction to Spider-Man 3 also had an affect on Raimi’s vision to put a story together for this movie.
It took over 10 years since this happened for Sam Raimi to return to the superhero genre with directing Marvel Studios Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield ended up returning in Spider-Man No Way Home. Plenty of fans are still holding out hope that Sony Pictures will make a fourth movie with Maguire.
There is also a demand for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 movie to be made, starring Andrew Garfield. A sequel was suppose to be released in 2016, which was cancelled. In 2022 Garfield expressed interest in returning as Spider-Man again after Spider-Man No Way Home.
For now, the studios are looking to make a fourth movie with Tom Holland, however there is not currently a director set yet; as Jon Watts may not be returning to direct.
Sony Pictures is also busy with making spin-off movies such as Venom, Morbius, and other upcoming Marvel titles: Madame Web and El Muerto. As well as the successful animated movies: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse.
Update February 19, 2024: Chatter Box Film reached out for an interview with Christopher Metzger, prior to the release of this article, however there has been no response for a follow-up article.
