Paramount Pictures has released the first official trailer for the comedy sequel Focker In-Law; directed by John Hamburg.
This will now make Focker In-Law the fourth installment in the Meet the Parents franchise with Ben Stiller, after the first film released 26 years ago, in 2000. Followed by Meet the Fockers (2004) and Little Fockers (2010).
Ben Stiller (Greg Focker) and Teri Polo (Pam Focker) are reprising with Robert De Niro (Jack Byrnes) and Blythe Danner (Dina Byrnes), as well as Owen Wilson as Kevin Rawley.
Skyler Gisondo (Superman (2025), The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2) is starring as a now grown up version of Greg’s son Henry Focker. Beanie Feldstein is also taking on the role of Greg’s grown up daughter Samantha Focker.
Ariana Grande is playing a character called Olivia Jones; who is in a relationship with Henry.
The previous films was focusing on Jack Byrnes using his CIA training to put Greg through all of his tests to see if he can be trusted.
However Ariana’s Olivia Jones appears to be the one who is pulling a reverse uno card as Grande’s character reveals at the family dinner, that she is the one who is a trained FBI hostage negotiator, and will be looking into who they are before choosing them to be in her circle of trust.
A marriage also looks to be on the horizon too, with Henry telling his parents he is going to propose to Olivia, although Greg has doubts.
