There’s plenty of infomation coming out of the Star Wars Celebration 2023 event in London, especially a new timeline for the franchise. Three new movies were also announced.
All film and television projects will continue to be cohesive and take place at points along this new timeline.
Here is the Star Wars timeline in order, beginning with:
- Dawn of the Jedi
- The Old Republic
- The High Republic
- Fall of the Jedi
- Reign of the Empire
- Age of Rebellion
- The New Republic
- Rise of the First Order
- New Jedi Order
Three new untitled films have been announced along with who will be directing them; in an article from Variety, James Mangold’s movie will be focusing on the Dawn of the Jedi era; 25, 000 years in the galaxy’s past.
Dave Filoni will also be directing a movie; set during The New Republic, soon after the plots of The Mandalorian and Ahsoka series.
A third title is Daisy Ridley’s upcoming movie directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy; that was also recently announced at the event. This film is known to be taking place during the New Jedi Order; as Rey Skywalker works to rebuild the Jedi.
Star Wars series: Skeleton Crew, which is starring Jude Law, will also be set in the New Republic Era, just like Dave Filoni’s upcoming movie. This series is expected to be releasing in 2023.
The Acolyte, will take place during The High Republic era. This series starring Carrie-Anne Moss and Dafne Keen, will now be releasing on Disney Plus in 2024.
